Article Reflection (Multi-media)

The pursuit of happiness

After reading article “How to get the most out yourself” I thought a lot about it and one very good film came to my mind.  When I was nearly 14-15 years old I saw film with Will Smith “The Pursuit of Happiness”. Plot of this film is very interesting and expressive, deep meaning make people think about their life. The main character, Christopher Gardner, starts his own business, everything seems to be very good, but he failed and loses everything: his wife, bank account, house. Only he has is his little son, with whom he stays in the streets. There are a lot of sorrowful scenes; I remember I have cried a lot. , Christopher Gardner loses everything, but hope and purpose. Having nothing in hands he goes to his goal. He, like an article recommends, close his eyes to others expectations and concentrates on his aim, once he and his son slept in a subway, he loses one of his shoes and went home with one of them. It is very important scene for me, he closes eyes for his disadvantages (lost shoe) and goes only with his forte. The same thing I read in article. This film, same as article, is good example of how to be purposefulness, and I was thanks to read and watch them.

Article Reflection 3: How to get the most out yourself

I have read article “How to get the Most out of yourself” and it impress me a lot. Reading such paragraph helps people understand value of planning own life to make it more successful. Author wrote article very clearly, point by point, and support own writing with examples, what makes everyone understand it.

Everyone has talent, hidden in our souls and minds, our aims in this life are to discover this talent and develop it up to a maximum.  If a person not a genius, people born with disclosed talent, he/she must try hard to realize own endowment. Everyone have to follow some rules to not break by the way.  From article, suggestion I like most is break away from other people’s expectations. I think it must be start point of the way of getting the most yourself. From our birth people expect something from us: being diligent person, student, worker – doing what other want from us became our habit. Misleading by this habit, people forget about own nature. So important for us, people, to close own mind from others opinions and look deep in own soul, realize what you want from this life, what is your advantages and disadvantages.  Once my teacher told me – you know what do you want from this life and it makes you superior from others. Later I understand his words – doing whatever to achieve own aim, but it was late, I have made mistakes, thinking about others expectations. Know I see that only thing that I need then was support of my folks. That is why I totally agree with author’s words that build a network of supportive relationships is important to achieve your maximum.  I think this article is useful for both adults and children and frankly recommend you to read it.

Anime and Manga

“Japanese cartoons” will everyone answer to the question “What anime does mean”. Yes, anime is Japanese animated production such as television series, short films and full-length feature films. Anime is quite different from ordinary movies; it is full of kawaii (cute) scenes, chibi (diminutive person) and other specific things. And what manga is? Comics? Not so simple, not every comics book is manga, and not every manga is comics book. You cannot open tankoubon (one volume of manga) and read manga from left to right as normal comics. Only manga is read by opening the end of the tankoubon and reading it from right to left. Anime and manga are very popular and have a wide range of readers of different gender, age category and interests. Bishonen, Dojinshi, Guro, Lolicon, Cyberpunk, Echi, Shonen-ai and e.c.… The numerous anime and manga of different genres are released each month to entertain not only children, but also adults. Moreover, manga and anime are so deeply rooted into society, maid cafes, cosplay, otaku, hikikomori are shining examples of it.

Cosplay - (short for costume play) dressing up and pretending to be a fictional character.

Hikikomori – ("pulling inward, being confined"), people withdraw themselves from social life, isolated themselves from real world.
Like a parts of one manga and anime are linked to each other very closely. Usually by publishing companies like Shuesha, Kodansha, Akita Shoten publish manga in magazines like Shounen Jump, Akamaru Jump, LALA and others. Each week manga passes through a vote and most popular one can start own anime. This process has own huge system away back overgrown to the huge industry. You can see the importance of manga and anime in Akihabara or Electric Town, district of Tokyo fully allotted for electronic, computer, anime, games and otaku goods. Here you can visit maid cafes, manga shops and other interesting places.

Following videos are about works of architect Ando Tadao.

On the first video “Water Temple”, one of the most famous works of Ando Tadao, is shown. Shingonshu Honpukuji, what means Water Temple in English, is the residence of Buddhist sect called Ninnaji Shingon. It was built in 1991 It is unique and illustrious not only because of its remarkable form; Water Temple represents radical change in building temples in Japan. Here are pictures of usual Japanese temple and Shingonshu Honpukuji.
Although it does not look like ordinary temple, it was built by all parameters of temple. Water Temple’s form has own concept and deep meaning. As you saw in a video, huge pool confuses and looks like ordinary pool, but it divided into two symmetrical parts and filled with water, which represents spiritual cleansing. Under the pool, there are a an “heart” of temple, here you can say motives of traditional Japanese architecture, as a contrast for light outside the temple, inside of Water Temple Ando Tadao used red light, which is reference of Buddha. In spite of temple’s simplicity it has many details, each of them has own meaning and idea.

The second video is about Church on the Water. It was built by Ando Tadao in 1988, year before Church of the Light was built. I feel deep meaning in contrast of concrete structure and simple cross with nature; sitting on simple worship the only things you can see are smooth surface of the water and beauty of nature. I think it is one of the best churches I have ever seen. Here are pictures of Church on the Water.

People I admire
Since I remember myself, I always interested in music, art and architecture. I can spend hour, days, months listening music of different genres and watching pieces of talents from all over the world. Akira Nakayama, Till Lindemann, Ito Toyo, Vivienne Westwood, Ando Tadao, Nathaniel Baldwin, Akira Yamaoka, Richard Melville Hall … I can continue this list on and on, so delightful are their works for me. By reason of choosing Japanese culture as a main topic of my blog, I decide to acquaint you with Japanese people I admire a most.

Ando Tadao, Japanese architect, was born in 1951 in Osaka, Japan. The most important detail of his life is that he never had a special training in the architecture field, the only thing what he done for his future career is attending night classes to develop his drawing skills and taking interior design courses. Watching his works I wonder how talented he is to make such marvelous without at least graduating special school. He started his career being a truck driver, in course of time he became boxer prior and after these all he decides to engage with architecture. Here are pictures of his works.

Akira Yamaoka.

Akira Yamaoka, Japanese composer and sound designer, is the second person whom I want to write about. Unlike Ando Tadao, he finished Tokyo Art College in field of interior design and product design. Seems to be absolutely irrelevant to the music, but Akira Yamaoka in interviews says that experience of designer helped him to create his own style by combining art and music. He starts his video game composer career working with big corporations such as Konami, Electronic Arts, etc., but his world fame his get after making soundtracks for “Silent Hill” game. "Breeze in monochrome night", "Dance with night wind", "Tears of..."  are my favorite works of Akira Yamaoka; I think they are really breathtaking.

Article Reflection 2: Papa, the philosopher

I read article "Papa, the philosopher" and first statement really made me think deeply about who I am to be. Absolutely, we, people should proud of being someone, due to our history, cultures, etc. That guy seemed to me some kind of coward, for he was afraid to be Italian, he was afraid of his environment, frankly saying, the opinion of others dominated him. So that was the reason of his daily unhappiness and he was ashamed of being Italian that he was going to crime a suicide. Furthermore, I do not agree with him, however I support his father, that he explained him, there is nothing to be ashamed with, and everyone should proud of who he is. Life itself is a big story, that we should represent our country just with good sides of it, and we appreciate our country, everybody is going to appreciate us. There is a good word "who I am to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, actually who I am not to be", So those words mean very much to me, that I am tired to claim these words continuously, the most appropriate wise to be said here, in this statement, because everyone should analyze his abilities, everyone should be grateful of his performance. I remember told by of my friends, she was unhappy to be Kyrgyz, she was always tried to prevent such kind of questions, and her grandmother sat with her someday, and explained their history, and all of their culture, hitherto she felt uncomfortable, but nowadays she is very proud being Kyrgyz.
Wrapping up this issue I want to better advocate my sight of view and say that me also happy being Kyrgyz.

Article Reflection 1: On desires and dreams

Future... What I am think about, when I hear this word, are family, career, and other things like being good person. However, none of us, hitherto hasn't consider above more deep expression, like building strategy to achieve aims, this article showed me the way of gaining goals easily, but step by step. Furthermore, I suppose that everyone should make a list of abilities he or she can do. So to better advocate my sight of view I wish to give some simple examples from daily life.
I remember watching film about chasing after happiness by Will Smith, I can totally say, that feel really inspired me a lot that I started to think about my future, especially about my career, what is waiting for me, etc. The hero had his own schedule to gain luck, he counted his every second of life, because, time was really crucial for him. He returned the vision into the world of imagination. Finally, he results success, moreover he was worthy of it. I consider the article was read above has the direct ratio to that film, about success, so that I wanted to write especially about this scene. I was really flattered by this article, that every point must be counted in business; every little particle has its own role. In fact, it is essential that each of us consider his future. Mainly, I was accentuated on what mother Teresa said about gaining success "Let everyone sweep in front of their doors, and the whole world will be clean", of course, every people in business should be good person, in America there is such thing that in business everyone should be cheerful, and mostly, these are always being successful, for they de facto.
So in order to sum up, I have a willing to add the author saying about the topic, life is all about balance, I totally agree with him.
